Six steps to peace of mind

Oracle Primavera tools are not "plug 'n' play" software products.

In the popular BT advertising campaign, Beattie declared “You get an ology, you're a scientist!”. Well, we may not be scientists but we do have an ology. It’s called the Primavera Implementation Methodology (PIM) and it sits at the heart of our Primavera P6 implementation consultancy service.

The PIM comprises 6 steps which we tailor to suit your needs and minimise risk...

1. Discovery. Gather and analyse information about implementation objectives and scope, success criteria, resources, constraints, processes, interfaces and change impact.
2. Solution Design. Produce a design specification covering software installation, configuration, customisation, data structures, data exchange requirements, performance reporting and operational procedures.
   
3. Build. Complete server software installation and construct and test customised prototype solutions, conforming to the design specification, using client data.
4. Pilot Trial. Conduct a pilot trial using a representative subset of client production data and users and assess process fit.
5. Deployment. Extend the pilot trial to encompass all users, including installing software on client PCs, comprehensive training, data migration and 'go live' support.
6. Closure. Review the implementation programme to confirm that objectives have been achieved, success criteria have been met and to identify further requirements.

But the PIM is just one element of our approach. We fuse the PIM with PRINCE2 and OCG best practice project delivery standards and underpin the whole with careful planning using, as you might expect, Primavera P6.

Throughout the programme we communicate progress and highlight issues to be addressed and, crucially, endeavour to transfer knowledge to your personnel as much as is practically feasible. A P6 implementation is something we do with you, not to you!
